Looked into available incubators and they really seemed expensive for what you get. Decided to build my own.

Decided on some insulated plywood and coated foil foam for the design.

So started playing with the 3D modelling software both for fun and to get part dimensions. Looks like the turner I was looking at was 15x15" so decided to make it 16.5" on the inside.

It is designed with the IncuKit in mind.

So I started building it:

So, coming along! I put a 40W bulb inside in a colder environement to make sure it will hold temp and it gets a good bit hotter than I need so the Incukit power should be lots.

As you can see in the render, I'm going to make the top fully Lexan so you can see inside well. The electronics are on the way also so I will update once I'm able to keep going!

Very interesting thread!

I have similar plans, i like to build the electronics myself too. ESP-8266 microcontroller board, so that it will be connected to my home-WiFi network. But i'm not planning to do any hatching for this year, so for now i'm just watching and learning.
