Excellent article about beekeeping!
We have several types of bees here in Texas, enjoy all of them(we don't keep hives tho). Our summer has been so hot and dry, we've had hundreds of honeybees drinking from the birdbath, bog pots, and Koi pond.

Sadly, africanized bees* have caused a lot of problems here in the south with the perception of honeybees being the peaceful and benevolent creatures that they are. But we do our best to educate people on the vast importance of the little honeybee

*Another classic example of people meddling with Mother Nature
