Hello BYC folks,
I've been a non-member user for over a year. It seemed silly not to join so here goes!
I spent four summers dreaming , planning, designing and redesigning a chicken coop. A year a go last April I went for it and bought 4 austrolorps, then 4 arucana's and then 4 buff orpington's.
With the help of my dear hubbie I built my dream chicken coop and away I went. These chickens have stolen my heart, they are so much fun!

) Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds) and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs.
