Finally! Eggs!

Yesterday I went to check on my hens around 4pm and lo and behold there were two beautiful, perfect, pink/tan eggs inside the coop!

They weren't in the nest box; they had simply made themselves a nice depression in the wood shavings. I'm not sure which hens laid--three of them I know for sure are just over 22 weeks. The other four I don't know their exact age but they look to be about the same. I didn't get a photo of those first ones---they sure were good this morning!

It's nice everyone is ALMOST as excited as I was! Today there was only one egg and one egg SHELL--guess one got broken somehow. After waiting over 5 months it's SOOOOO rewarding to see those gorgeous ovals lying there waiting to be picked up.

Me too! Just opened the nesting boxes up on Friday, and 1st egg(let) on Sunday. And what a noise

How often are you checking now? It's hard to quit peeking. My DH suggested that we put mirrored glass on the sides of the nesting boxes so we can see in & they won't know. I THINK he's kidding.
