Chirping
Good Morning,
I Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm Matt, 37, live south of Houston Texas.
I've been dreaming about chickens now for a bit.... well... lets call it 5 yrs haha. I finally took the plunge. I live in a neighborhood that doesn't allow our feathered friends but I know the HOA president and he said as long as he doesn't hear them or smell them he doesn't care what I do hahaha. I chose GLW's because of there dual purpose abilities, I also chose them due to them being "quiet" and not very "flighty", plus they are really good with my kiddos (ages 6 and 2). I'm a one breed kinda guy. I figured pick ONE and do THAT ONE really well. I eventually want to get some "standard" chicks from a breeder and breed, but I've got to get some more property for that. I I've been lurking on here for months now since I bought my girls and I've learned a ton! so I thought it was time to go ahead and join. I got 10, one didn't make it, so I've got 9 girls left ( I already want more lol). Unfortunately I'm going to have to give up 3. I don't want to push it with the HOA and 6 should give me enough eggs to take care of my family and then some (fingers crossed). They are 14 weeks old this week. I'm almost done with their coop. I look forward to learning so much more and being a part of this wonderful adventure we call chickens hahaha.
