I had begged for almost 10 years for chickens and on March 26 of this year, we brought home 10 baby chicks . . and a Rubbermaid Tote. You know how quickly they outgrew that plastic box. DH then came up with a huge cardboard box from work and the chicks stayed in that (in my basement) til I threatened to run away from home. Then he found a fairly big wooden box at work and they were moved outside with a light to keep them warm . . maybe in early May. In March, DH began working on a coop and this past Sunday, we finally moved the chicks into the coop.

Not only did it take forever to get it built but we had a near disaster while moving it to the spot where we wanted it. Don't get excited . . the chickens weren't in it while it was being moved!

Anyway, they've started laying . . I'm getting 2 eggs per day and it's pretty exciting!

Cool! Looks great!

I haven't started mine yet...every time we make plans to get started, SOMETHING comes up.

Congrats on finishing your girl's new home!
