next time though i m just saving up and buying one... dh said he wasnt, "Building" anymore coops and i ve learned this is harder than i thought. ... and i already want more chickies!

I read/saw your BYC,funny. My boyfriend and I got into one or two small fights over the coop. He really was trying, I was probably pushin him to get it done fast cause the chicken dust in my room was giving me head aches and they needed to go outside. I love my chickens but that dust was getting over bearing. I like your coop!!! You said you lost your job but is there any way you can borrow some money or see if anyone is getting rid of some welded 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch wire to put up on the top of it (top of coop where open) and for the pop door make a small frame with that wire also. I hate to see those chickens be free dinner to some critters out there. I really think its cute though.

its not open, there is hardware cloth 1/4inch cover all the open spaces. luckily i bought all that junk before getting laid off! i just need more wire for the run.

Appologize, I can't see it in the pic. Well, I'd try to craigslist route. I once got rid of a bunch of screen there, gave it away. Good luck. It's a nice coop.

. My coop needs a similar name, I was thinking shack maybe...

. I went at putting in an extended nest box area... DH will be back out there this weekend trying to make it look less 'ghetto'. My temporary run looked much like yours does now too, till a skunk came along & got 2 of my girls. That sped up the run project

. It should be fine for a while as long as you lock them up at night.
I hope you get a new job soon. I know all too well the extra stress of being laid off. At least you should have some *cheap* eggs coming soon

thanks yall. i apprecioate it! yes i lock them up at night, and i am checking freecycle and craigslist. i havent had much luck tho, i'm also looking in the valley trader.
