Mary and I have been reading information from BYC site for over a year. We received our first 6 chicks this past Tuesday. It is already histericle watching and interacting with them.
Types & Names
Barred Plymouth Rock.- Poppy
Exchequer Leghorn -Ruby
Golden Buff- Goldie
Welsummer-Daisy
Sussex-Susie
Light Brown Leghorn-Peaches
We found BYC just through Google search when we first started considering raising chickens for the eggs. We love the quality and flavor of the fresh eggs. Friends of ours have chickens which intrigued us also. We figured joining BYC's would provide a valuable resource of information for the best health of the chickens. It is also always wonderful to be part of a group that shares an interest. We look forward to reading and interacting with the BYC members. Still learning the website protocols, interactions and just how to do things within the site. It has already been great meeting everyone through the BYC site. Three days in to having our chicks and can not believe they already are gaining feathers. They are historical. Lastly, my wife and I are opposite individuals. Owning and raising chicks gives us something else to do together. We also camp a lot. I hunt and fish. My wife is a great baker and cook. She loves to share her deserts with family, friends and neighbors.
All of our neighbors are also excited to visit the chickens and taste the eggs.
See you all around the BYC site.
Chuck & Mary.
