Finally got lucky!!!

Almost a month ago I had my bantam hen hatch 4 babies.... well it's offical.. only ONE roo!!!

Always have the worst luck with hatching too many roos.

I've been very lucky myself.
I have just establishe my flock of 45, only 2 hens are laying age.
Mixed bantam hen went broody on empty nest so I took a couple of eggs from my OEGB and put under her.
About 10 days later the OEGB went broody with 1 egg in the nest. Each hen hatched 1 chick, now 2 and 3 weeks old. Both appear to be girls right now.

About 2 months ago I had someone hatch same type of eggs -- only 1 hatched and is definitely a girl!
It appears I will have 3 girls to put back with dear old mom and dad!!!

Yep, you got lucky and I didn't. I believe I have 3 roos and only 1 pullet from my bantam hen. They'll be an OEG/Jap X. At least I think the black roos I have running around are OEG bantams.​
