Finally got my chickens!

Picked up my girls this morning, & I'm very excited & also a little nervous...I want to do this right.

Are these your first chickens ever? I remember getting my first chicks... made me so happy and excited!

Congrats! I need to tell you, though, that the red ones are not RIRs. They are red sexlinks, at least the couple whose tails I can see--you can tell by all the white in their tails.

RIR have black tails.

Red sexlinks are red with white tails and sometimes white in other feathers.
They are a cross between RIR roo and white rock hen.

The black ones are black sexlinks(aka black star)
They are black with some red on the neck/breast.
They are cross between a RIR roo and barred rock hen.
