Finally got my chickens!

Congrats! on your new flock. I'm a newbie with my first 10 hens and one rooster that are just now 19 weeks (got them via the mail at one day old) and I just love them, just like you will love yours. I think I checked on mine 5 times a night when we first got them and they change every day.


There is something very calming about them - and I have handled mine as much as possible so them are pretty friendly (some more than others) with both my husband and I. We get a kick taking them out in the garden with us. They now understand (or seem to) that when you turn over a rock there will be something yummy under there to eat.

They also LOVE LOVE the meal worms that I give them for treats. Have fun with yours!
