Finally got my dream chicken!

I wish I had someone to take my roosters for me.
I learned my lesson with my NNs as they were my first chicks I raised.
Don’t name them and get attached until you know whether any are boys.
I have a current batch of 12 chicks and I think one of my Australorps is a cockerel.
I’m excited to see what kind of NN I get from the crosses I have.
I’m pretty sure one, if not both, of my NN pullets are EE/NN crosses which means they might lay green eggs.

My chicks are 3 Australorp, 3 Speckled Sussex, 2 Partridge Rocks, 2 EE and 2 Silver Penciled Rocks.

It definitely is convenient! I also have learned though not to name them until I know genders. Although I almost always change their names anyways by the time they get to adulthood. Oh, and when you get some crosses bred, definitely post them! I’d love to see

I will definitely do that.
There’s nothing I like better than talking chickens with people and sharing photos, etc.
I share a lot in a thread titled “2018 Newbie Chat”.
It’s something a BYC member started for those who are just starting out with chickens this year but anyone can post on it if they want.

I FINALLY GOT TURKENS For those of you who don’t know, I have literally been obsessed with getting down Turkens since the minute I saw them on Instagram. And finally I got some! So the run down; I went to Tractor Supply today just because. I mean I was right there, why not. I walk in, and I get excited because CHICK DAYS!! As soon as I saw the bin and the sign that said Turkens, my heart jumped! There were several other people looking at buying the few turkens that were left, so I snatched those little nuggets right up! I am just so thrilled!

Aaahhh I so want Turkens but hubby said that we have too many already.
