Hooray for NNs!!

I have 4.
Two cockerels and two pullets.
I also got mine from TSC.
Mine are 19 weeks.
I started off with 6 (3 boys & 3 girls) but lost one little girl at 4 weeks to an obstruction in her crop and the boy was human aggressive and went to freezer camp.

To OP: I think your chicks will grow up to be black like my Aggie. She looked just like them as a chick.
Did your TS only have blacks or did you only want black ones? Just curious.

Do you have a plan for any cockerels?
I had to make huge adjustments to my flock to keep my boys. Including building a big walk-in coop and buying 12 more sexed female chicks.

Wow, they are so dang cute! :D I agree, they will probably look like her (yay, because she’s adorable!). To answer your question, they only had black/black with yellow at Tractor Supply. They actually were mixed with Plymouth Rocks. If they had had other colors, I definitely would’ve gotten a variety. But that’s ok! :) In the case of cockerels, I have a friend who’s a farmer that always takes them. He has over a hundred chickens, and he always takes my roosters for me. They’re illegal in my town, people complain a lot :hmm

That’s awesome!
I wish I had someone to take my roosters for me.
I learned my lesson with my NNs as they were my first chicks I raised.
Don’t name them and get attached until you know whether any are boys.
I have a current batch of 12 chicks and I think one of my Australorps is a cockerel. :barnie
I’m excited to see what kind of NN I get from the crosses I have.
I’m pretty sure one, if not both, of my NN pullets are EE/NN crosses which means they might lay green eggs. :fl

My chicks are 3 Australorp, 3 Speckled Sussex, 2 Partridge Rocks, 2 EE and 2 Silver Penciled Rocks.
