Finally got my first babies. I was only getting 3 or 4. But boy am I bad at this chicken math...I came home with 8 of them. They are growing so fast. We will be getting the coop next week and I know that we have to block the nest off so they don't sleep in them and that they need to be in there for at least a week before letting them out so they know where they sleep. I know I want hanging feeders and waters and a poop board. Anyone else have any ideas or thoughts they want to share? Thanks and here's my baby girls. I got 2 of each kind

Hello & welcome!

They are adorable at that age! Remember they can't maintain their own warmth until they 'feather in' - usually about 8-10 weeks out. Reduce your heat by 5 degrees each week until you reach ambient temp. You don't say where you are, so if you are in the frozen north, give them a little extra time. Electrolyte in the water etc. and you will have happy, healthy chicks in no time! Are you going to let them out to pasture?? If so, there are several designs of chicken runs etc. to protect them from predators, check out the learning tab here.
Good luck with your ladies - if you are already this bad with Chicken Math - Lord help you!!
