Brought home 8 chicks (a couple days old) on May 14th..
2 Buff Orps, 2 Black Cochins, 3 Brahmas and 1 Salmon Favorelle~
about 3 days ago I put a few plastic eggs in the nest box and this morning
when I lifted the lid a Buff Orp (Brownie) was in there squatting on one of them..
Scared both of us half to death, I thought all the chickens were already out of the coop~
I closed the lid and checked a little while later and what do you know, our first egg
I figure that one cost about $700 dollars.. from now on they are all free LOL

Yay! The first one is exciting. We have only been getting eggs for a few days and already we have gotten 8. Apparently it is contagious!
