Finally got some snow pics!

awwww, izzy looks alot like my buff hen Daisy! but Daisy doesn't have the pretty white eye stripes or the darker colors on the end of her wings! she's all that one color.

Izzy is Gorgeous!!! I have never seen such a pretty duck.. OK, I am going to raise some ducks this spring...so far, I am deciding on several breeds...Saxonys are now one of them because I see how pretty Izzy is..and when looking in my Storey's Poultry breeds I see them and they say they are excellent layers of large white eggs....have you found this to be true??

Ok, I just checked out Holderreads and they have the Saxon ducks..and I am planning on getting some after seeing that picture. I called them and they will ship to Va. I am soooo excited. I also have a few Muscovies I will put on the pond in the spring also...do you think they will cross? I am hoping not...

Thank you!!

Hattiegun,

For some reason I think they'd rather freeze than get out of the snow. I keep worrying about them, but they have plenty of shelter and just choose to sit in the snow.

D'Angelo N Va,

Yes, so far she has been a great layer and is consistently giving me nice sized eggs. I have to say she is the calmest and quietest of all my ducks as well.

Izzy looks awesome; she's obviously very happy in her new flock! Is she laying green eggs for you?

Good layer for sure Kansas! Nope, never had her lay us a green one. Always white since she got here.

I'm guessing they just changed as she aged.

We love her, she is an angel and seems very happy. She'll actually eat peas from my hand now as long as I don't make any sudden movements.

That is so bizarre! Well, the green ones sure were pretty while they lasted. Sorry you didn't get to experience them

So glad she is liking her new home.
