I have no idea why I didn't join sooner as I've been on this site almost every day for the better part of a year. I'm in Providence, RI with a few more hens than the law allows, unless you use "chicken math". 3 Rhode Island Reds + 2 Black Sex Links +2 Easter Eggers + 2 Silkies = 6 hens. Perfect! I got my chickens this spring and they started laying a couple weeks ago. So far I can rely on 3 eggs a day but they haven't all started laying yet.

Glad this site is here with so much great info!
