She was hatched on March 28th of last year, and she had her first egg yesterday!! WOO HOO!! That's over 40 weeks old, or 9 months and one week.

Just glad she started to lay!

WOW! That's a long time to wait for the first egg.

Where's the pic of the egg? I have 2 welsummer pullets, but I have a while to wait for the eggs as they are only 10.5 weeks old.

Congrats Bil!

I recently had a Welsummer start laying, too. I was a bit disappointed with the color of the first egg. But every egg she has laid has gotten better. Her eggs still aren't as dark as her "sisters", but there is definite improvement.

I'll have to take a picture of it. She was lucky, she was getting ready for the stew pot!

She hasn't had an egg since, but maybe tomorrow.

Congrats! My girl recently started laying, too. I was so pleased with the beautiful eggs!!! She's doing pretty good and laying three to four eggs a week.
