Finally rounded up!

Sorry I thought it was Pa. Here ya go might find some one to take all but Dot and Bopper . Worth a try.https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...et-me-know-your-out-there/11510#post_17986524

it is very easy to get attached to these birds I can't imagine my life with out them.
Three places now have said no and this morning we were told that my husband probably has throat cancer and needs surgery as soon as possible. So I may be forced to get rid of all of them if I have to care for him and continue working. Geez when it rains it pours. I'll look into this place thank you.

I am so sorry to hear this .You sure don't need more to deal with hopefully some on on the Ohio thread might be interested.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband.

A few other ideas if you haven't tried them already, does your town have a Facebook community page? My small town does, and people post if they need to rehome animals, it seems to work really well. Also try contacting the animal shelter, most people think they're only for dogs and cats but many will take other animals too.

In addition to posting on the Ohio state thread, maybe try here too.
Sorry I haven't been on all week, thank you for the heads up, I will try to post on here soon. I thought my brother was going to take 2 of them but he said no so now I think we'll hold out till after hubby has surgery and find out if we have to rehome all. Currently they are all doing ok. Dot has learned that if I tell her to go take a bath she can go in the pen attached to the coop and have a nice bath by herself.

Hello ladies, just stopped in for a quick question. While Dot was doing well for a few days, the boys have been getting rough again. Her neck is almost bare. Will that grow back? She's also getting upset when I put her up separately and seems to panic when she's not close to the others. I'm just not sure which way is more detrimental to her health.Any thoughts?

Her neck feathers will eventually grow back. I have never tried this but I read on this forum long ago, that someone put a section of panty hose on their ducks neck to protect it from the drakes. Another person said that they used a tube sock for the same purpose. It seems like it would work. They said that it also kept the drakes from mating the female as much because they couldn't really grab a hold of the panty hose. Funny the random things you remember reading.

Can you separate Dot along with the other girls, maybe just split up the girls and boys? Do you have a dog kennel or crate so she could stay with the other ducks, but separated from them?
