finally we have fertile eggs!!

We are going to hatch our first load of chicks soon ... After months of waiting for our cockerel to mature and start breeding, we seen him do it the other day... Today we check the eggs from multiple chickens and all of them are fertilized... Now he has 21 days to perfect it... We are 42 days out from our spring chick order arriving... 21 days from now we will be setting eggs and hoping for a successful hatch on the same day our spring hatchery chicks are born so they can get along and we only have to introduce one group of new chicks to the flock instead of 2

Thats why we bought a mini advance... if we get addicted its still only 7 chicks a month lol

Rooster is a buff brahma.. he is an awesome boy... Makes a noise like a raptor

His women are barred rock, EE, new hampshire red, and sex link

Due to arive april 2nd are 2 more EE, a blue andelusion, and a welsummer roo

Will definetly keep everyone updated with pictures, have to, its too exciting to keep to ones self... Im just glad i have this place for an outlet for our crazed excitement lol... Fb people dont seem to care
