FINALLY

Thanks Terrie, very interesting, I have never in my life heard of cutting them back. All my romas seem to have shriveled up now. I will have to remember that and figure it may be too late to do that here now? I can give it a try anyway.

Our tomatoes didn't do well this year, due to too much rain. But DH cut the tops off and rooted them in empty beer bottles. Some have been replanted, so we'll see if it waork.

Good job on the Romas, I use Romas more than any other. My dream is to have homemade tomato soup in the pantry! There's a recipe for it in www.TheEasyGarden.com forum .

Oh yummy! Homemade tomato soup!We have 3 or 4 romas planted as well as a brandywine and a beefsteak and one other I forgot what it is.

Did you see any bees this year? Some places are seeing really dramatic fluctuations in the bee population and even having to get them imported from other states.

We didn't get very many tomatoes this year either. My mom heard something about a nationwide Tomato Fungus of some kind. Not sure if it's true or not, but we got some big bushes this year. My dad had to trim them down so that the fruits could ripen.

I live far away from you, but usually my yard is infested with bees, and I havent seen a single bumble bee in my backyard! And i think i saw only one yellow jacket....Usually I get stung 2 or 3 times a year, I'm kind of worried about this...

I went to a honey farm today, passed a farm. This farm had a ton of tomatoe plants loaded with them, letting them rot!! The deer ate all of my plants! Evidently deer do not like basil (it's almost 3' tall), bell peppers, zinnas.
