FINALLY!

Today, I finally got my first duck egg of the year!!! I don't know why, but my ducks seem to be really sensitive when it it comes to laying. The slightest change will stop them from laying. I haven't gotten any eggs this year yet. We actually moved about 6 months ago, and I have only gotten one eggs since we moved. Right now, most of them are molting, so I figured that is why. Although, my cayuga is not. She laid me an egg today! I'm hoping that that she is actually starting to lay instead of just laying one then being done for a while. I guess I will probably know tomorrow.

Thanks. I decided I am going to hatch them as soon as my incubator is empty (if she keeps laying)

I thought my ducks were never going to lay (especially after surviving dog and mink attacks) and I was soooo excited when I found my first!! Now they all lay everyday like clockwork! It took them a while to get enough courage to come out of their pen, now they escape every chance they get! Good luck with your eggs!
