finch babies

there were only three eggs a couple days ago, so I don't think she is done laying. I have pestered them too much last time and they abandoned their babies, so this time I am going to be really hands off. They are in a community flight and there are about a half dozen non-pied in there, so it is hard to see who is doing what. I was going to move them to a different flight and band everyone differently, but then I started hearing a lot of singing and seeing some chasing going on, so I decided to leave them alone and maybe I can move them in a couple months, just with three or four more to move!

me too. this isn't the exact pair, but they look just like this except the mama is solid, not minimal pied! The daddy is young, just born last summer, but he is already STUNNINGLY pied!!! If i didn't raise him myself I would have thought he was an old guy.

Congrats!!! Baby finches are so cute and tiny!! I've had bronzewing finches but only have on left now. She happily lives with 2 diamond doves and even sat on dove eggs with them. Unfortunately none of the dove eggs have been fertile. I haven't a clue as to how old my male is??

How many eggs did they lay? I thought I had a pair and they layed 4 eggs and it turned out it was two hens then later I got a true pair and raised them. I have had button quail, society finches, zebras, owl finches, parrot finches, Gouldians, red wax bills, black nuns, white nuns, and orange cheeked waxbills.
