I'd like to, in a couple weeks, get hold of a few black copper maran eggs (I think). I do have a few lame questions like what is the difference between Black Copper Maran and FRENCH black copper maran? Is it eggs? Feathers? Lineage?
My major question though is that if I want to buy the birds (well, eggs to hatch to become the birds) for the color of their eggs, how do I best go about that? I don't really care about the looks of the feathers as much as whether or not the bird will lay a deeply brown egg... Is there someplace or some breeder that is well known for breeding for the best egg color? It may seem like a bit of a silly question, I don't know.
