I'm 5'10", plus-sized (almost out of plus) with short legs, long torso and I carry most of my weight up front in the belly and boobs. I hate shopping, hate, hate, hate it. Nothing seems to fit right, and the styles and fabrics I like do not come in plus sizes. Plus-sized and cheap=mu-mus and glitter. I also don't need sequenes on the pockets of my jeans. I really don't need clothing that says "stare at my butt, its one Big Mac away from being quarterhorse size"
This is why I started buying and making jewelry. It fits, and distracts the eye from those problem areas. If I wear a pretty necklace and earrings, people aren't looking at the belly or butt. If I ever actually sell my stuff more than casually, I'm going to call my business "One Size Fits All", or "Jewels Always Fit".
Shopping
sorry...I can't spell
