The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!
I have a chance to exchange some guinea eggs for peafowl eggs....

the catch is that I have to find the peafowl eggs....and they are free rangers....

so...any hints on places where I might look?? please don't tell me they are like guineas
and are real secretive about where they have laid eggs at...but am guesing that is the case...

any ideas where I might look????

my peafowl are too young so they are of no help in the nesting/egg area....

I agree thats a great place to start, before my hen passed away i found her making a nest way in my back feild in a pile of brush righ next to a tree.

Ok i have over 30 hens here and trying to get them to go broody to sit on some eggs so my question is how do u guys get broody hens all the time?

actually found all 5 together in a simple nest in the open hay barn...on the very top of the stack in the back....I consider myself lucky!!

they were round hay bails with a roof over top and the rest open....go figure!!

I Have over 50 broody right now, chicks running all over the place.
I got broodies that ain't suppose to go broody like production reds for example, i think it is a contagious thing around here, they even go broody all winter long just not as many.
Some of my broodies never get off the nest even when the chicks hatch go figure
