Fine or Regular Pine Shavings for chicks?

Getting 25 chicks from McMurry Hatchery on the 28th. Is it better to use the fine pine shavings or regular shavings for the brooder?

I would use regular. The fine are dustier and they look to much like their crumbles, I've had chicks show more interest in trying to eat them.

I just use the regular stuff. And don't freak out too much about them eating the shavings, of course they're going to taste them. They don't have a momma to show them what to eat, and like any baby they taste everything. Little bit of shavings doesn't hurt anything.

Do not brood your new babie on shavings brood them on the non slip shelf liner so they dont get spraddle leg.
