It took me a few weeks but finally I got it..
how long from end to end is it? how many chickens are you gunna put in there?
It is 5' wide and 12' long. I have 7 chicks in it right now, which give them 8.5 cu. foot space each. I would like to give them at leat 10cu ft each, so I might take one or two out and put them in a pen with some others.. But I dont know they should be fine like they are.
Very nice job!
You might try hanging some branches in the open area for alternate roosts on hot nights plus it lets the birds use more of that beautiful cubic footage. Just cut them a couple solid branches little longer than the coop is wide and stick them thru the wire. Mine like to just hop up and take a break while bring able to see what's happening (maybe another hen found something, must investigate)
It also allows a more timid hen a place to get away from the bullies
I like that, a nice simple rectangle design. I think that is what I'll end up with, because rectangle and square are easy to assemble
Awesome thanks for the advice, I never thought of that. I have some trees to trim this weekend, I think thats what I will do..
Your coop is a work of art, the pics are nice, I like your little helper too. She looks so proud.
