"Finishing" CX's by freeranging

I free ranged mine (20 birds) from the second week, along with their adoptive mom, and fed layer mash and mixed grains once a day~same as my laying flock. There is a thread on here about the whole thing.

No health problems whatsoever and all made it to 11 wks. The meat is, without a doubt, the best chicken I've ever tasted in my life....and I love the taste of my dual purpose birds, but these are even better. The meat is tender, juicy, rich in flavor and has a wonderful texture.

Their finish weights were on average 10 lbs with a 5-6 lb processed weight. Beautiful birds, wonderful carcasses and an easy processing.
