fire ants

Yes I have with great success, if you will read my earlier post that is what I suggested. Be careful though of the flying dust from it, but it does work well.

I can't do gas because the ants are right in front of the coop door.
I will probably try the boric acid and put a board over it so the chickens don't get it or the dust.
What a problem!!!!

This is how my morning went. I tried vinegar-they didn't mind. I tried WD40 since it is a cure all, LOL-they didn't mind. I tried salt-didn't mind. Then I poured bleach over the entire area-they didn't like it but still had them.
I'll have to wait and see now. I have a thirty year old can of hairspray, maybe I'll try that before I can get to the store.
Yesterday I noticed they made a "bone pile" of the dead members.
They ants are not making mounds. It's an area about 1 foot, and it has many openings in it. Maybe its a starter mound. But they are small and burn and itch when they bite.

This was not my method of dealing with these pest. I would never pour gas on any thing and set it on fire, it's very dangerous to do so. Boric Acid does work well though. Good Luck.
