Its that time of year again.
Now, for me, Im in a town, and my yard isnt huge. People in my block do fireworks, a lot of them, of all different kinds and it gets a little loud. But my nearest neighbours do not bother, so I wasnt worried.
But tonight I'm particularly annoyed, my nearest neighbour, decided to do fireworks this year, for the first time Ive lived here.
He knows I have ducks, and he knows that their coop is right against the fence, close to his yard. And he did fireworks, less than two metres away from their coop.
My girls got very stressed.

I dislike fireworks in general, but to do it so close, knowing I have birds, without even letting me know in advance, has me so annoyed. Doesnt feel very neighbourly. If I had known he was going to do a huge firework show right next to our yard, I would have brought my ducks in tonight.

Anyone else have this issue? How do y'all cope with it stressing your poultry out?
How do you feel about fireworks?

This side of the pond,, the fire works are on July 4th.
My dogs get very nervous,, when that occurs. No one is blasting them right near my house,,, but not far away by theirs. My dogs also do not like thunder and lightning.
My chickens do not seem to be bothered much,,(that I can tell) by both fireworks, and thunder.
Of course if it was close like within 2 meters distance,, I'm sure the chickens would get startled/frightened.
I have no solution for your situation,, except maybe get some of your own fireworks,, and blast them when he is having a NICE GET-TOGETHER PARTY in his back yard. FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE. :old

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

Not a bad solution
🤣

ever???? wow
Theyre very beautiful, but the noise ruins it for me personally
Yeah, where we live they are illegal unless you have a permit so mostly one only gets them around big cities. And the nearest city is 100km away so its kind of hard for us to see them!
I think one year there was some a bit nearer, but I was asleep in bed.....
And of cause I have seen moves of them, and that kind of thing.
