Processed my first batch of Meaties. I kept no records this year. I had 25 that ranged from 4 lbs to 8.5 lbs. They were colored broilers from S&G Poultry.

They are resting in the refrigerator right now.

They looked great.

I too just processed a batch of roosters, ten of them. 21 week old free range Buff Orpingtons and Barred rocks. Average weight was 4 lbs. All went well, but the plucking took forever...we ran out of propane and I think the water was a bit too cool. How old were your freedom rangers?
 
14 weeks. At least 2 weeks too long maybe 4. They were eating like crazy but I think the size was already there.

Timing was not necessarily by choice but by necessity.
