First BYC experience

Hi everyone
My name is Emilie, I live in Ottawa, On and am shortly moving to a rural area where I plan on keeping chickens. I have recently picked up a copy of Raising Chickens for Dummies. I have found it to be extremely helpful in my chicken planning activities. I wanted to join the forum after reading some posts by other members. I am excited to have a group of people who have chicken experiences to share, and can't wait until I have some to share with newcomers.
I am currently working on choosing breeds that will do well in our cold Canadian winters. Thanks to everyone for contributing to such a wonderful and informative forum, I am looking forward to participating.

The more you know before you get your chickens the better. Also...we like pictures! So when you get your chickens, be prepared to take pics and post them.
