We have 11 hens (Easter eggers, RIR, WLH), 8 WLHpullets, 5 RIR pullets and a big RIR roo. Just noticed dry pox on 3 of the white pullets. They are acting fine, eating well. Should I segregate them?? They all live in "chicken heaven" a 1/4 acre pen with a barn to roost in, a huge oak for shade and all the grass they can eat, with a nice bit of dirt to enjoy. Also, my roo has been lame on his right leg....maybe the joint above his toes, I have looked, felt, moved all parts and can feel no abnormalities or see anything unusual. This roo and the goat LOVE to battle each other and she may have body slammed him as she has in the past. I am wondering if this lameness may have anything to do with the pox?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Want to add that we have had these hens and the roo for 3 years and this is the first illness of any kind in the flock....I made the mistake of adding 3 pullets from a friend that insisted they came from a reputable breeder. I am pretty sure this is how the pox started as two of the 3 that have it are the new ones. I could be wrong as this is the my first experience with it, but it sounds like a good explanation!! The rest of the new pullets came from a tractor supply in town and we have always gotten healthy birds from them. Thanks for any help!!!
