First Celadon Eggs!

I would love to be able to get quail. They're just so cute and tiny but with the little bit of property and of course the chickens, ducks and predators I cannot. I would love to see pictures of the adults too.

An aviary like a chicken run that takes up a lot of room is the ideal, but apparently quail also do well in hutch type habitats that can stack. You may not need as much room as you think!

You can easily keep a small flock in a rabbit hutch or guinea pig cage, yeah

They're beautiful! I wish I could find a chicken that lays large eggs like this! I'm guessing I'd need to cross breed a Welsummer and a blue egg layer probably at Least a couple of generations..

that is my next project I want the Celedon Quail chicks so bad. But Im going to be prepared before I get some

Wait two weeks for fertility.Save every one of those blue eggs for 4 days and hatch them all put them in their own cage. And then keep doing so lol

I just found a lady in the nearest big city that has Celadon eggs regularly. Nest time i am up there i am picking up 4 dozen

I've had worst luck with celadons so far.
1st hatch - 12 chicks, only 3 girls
2nd hatch - 4 chicks, only 1 girl
3rd hatch (yesterday)- only one celadon chick out of dozen blue eggs. (Don't worry, it has plenty of friends from regular quail eggs.)
Out of all the roosters I got, I managed to keep the one who can't do his job right. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new celadon is a boy but knowing my previous luck I'm afraid I have a girl instead
