First chick just hatched from homemade bator

It's only day 20 ! One of the other eggs has a small bit broke out but haven't seen any more movement from it yet. This chick below is loud and active

My last hatch was like yours. one hatched then with all the noise it made the rest started pipping and joined it.

I went to work for a few hours and came home to find 2 more healthy looking chicks hatched

Congrats! Ours just started pipping in our homemade incubator too!! So exciting!

Well we are up to 5 live chicks now. They look much better when they dry and fluff up. My rottie has camped herself next to the bator and when the chicks start peeping loud, she look in to make sure they look Ok - LOL How am going to sleep tonight? I still have 3 eggs to go.
