Good morning all you lovely chicken people!

I'm in a great mood because I got my coop delivered last night! Of course it was pitch black outside when it got delivered, and still dark when I left for work this morning - so I'm assuming it looks great!

So I'm going on my first chicken supply shopping trip - prechickens, and am looking for all of ya'lls guidance.

What are must haves that I absolutely need to pick up (besides the chickens).

Remember - bare bones... I have nothing but a coop!

Thanks for your input and have a fantastic weekend!

Ok you will need the following:
Vitamins and electrolyte pack
Heat lamp base
infa red heat lamp bulb
medicated chick starter/ or non medicated if the chicks were vaccinated
Waterer (i'd get a few depending on how many chicks you are gonna have)
Feeder (again get a few if your gonna have more then say 10 chicks)
blue kote (just in case some picking occurs you use it on the wounds)
Pine shavings
finely crushed poultry grit
I also like to keep a few different kinds of antibiotics around just in case one falls ill that way you dont have to run out and get some in a panic
After the first week scramble up some eggs for the babies as a treat or plain yogurt

Gosh i think thats everything, make sure you watch the chicks very closely the first few weeks, sometimes they get what they call pasty butt (the poo gets stuck and dried on over the vent area) be very careful picking it off and if it gets tooo difficult take a warm rag and soak it until you can easily pull it off.

Best of luck to you with your new chickies
