Forgive my ignorance...I am a work-at-home-mom busting my butt to meet some deadlines so I've got little time to research this properly like I normally would do. I've got a hen sitting, and her eggs have started hatching today. So far, we've got one baby. She is in the nest box of my chicken tractor because we just didn't have anything else to put her in where she would stay on her eggs. I've got the rest of the chickens seperated from her and the babies today. I'll be picking up a seperate pen for her and the babies from my dad tomorrow. I'll also be getting some food for them and little watering containers tomorrow. Is there anything in particular that I should know about raising babies? I'm worried that I'm going to do something wrong and that they won't make it.

I was so excited to walk outside this morning and hear the chirping!

I would just make sure the chicks can reach the food and water, and with the water, be careful to use something shallow, or put some rocks or marbles in the water so they can't drown.

Congrats!

Good info...I'll be sure to watch the water, thanks!
