H i I'm new to chickens and got my babies age 10 days. they are healthy and happy and turning 6 weeks old at the weekend and ready to live outdoors. I play with them daily and at night they sit on the sofa with me. I have a towel that I put down and they love to peck it, but now they are bigger they are actually able to pull threads off which they eat and I'm worried this will harm them. any advice would be good thanks.

Hiya:frow
Nice to meet you!
:welcome
You give them grit right?
Personally I would get rid of the towel I wound not take the chance. Cloth would take a long time in the crop to breakdown....I’d hate to deal with a case of sour crop over it. Better to prevent a problem than deal with one.
I have my fleece blanket...lol seriously! I bring it outside when it’s cold cover my lap and they know its cuddle time! Plus it keeps me a tad bit cleaner lol. Best wishes for you and your babies. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do mine.

Hi there thanks so much. I have an old sheet I can use instead. I give them grit since they started having treats. I'm crazy about them, and love it when they roost on me while we're watching TV. I will be sad when they are living outside.
