First Chicks

We bought our first 6 one-week old chicks last Saturday. I have a couple questions. First, is it ok to feed them lettuce and fruits and veggies like I do the bigger hens? Also, how fast do they grow? It seems to be they doubled in size in four days!!

yes its ok to feed them fruits an veggies.but id wait till they was 3wks old.

If you are going to be feeding them things that are bigger than crumbles then they will need grit.

if they're going to have some outside time, do they still need grit? or will they pick it up from the ground/dirt?

Thanks needmorechickens! I wasn't sure. They are only 12 days old, so they are inside. I don't want the other hens to torture them - yet!
