First Crow

Here is a video of Big Grey. I was hoping s/he would be a hen but the last couple days, when coming out in the morning s/he is attempting to crow, so that means Grey would be a rooster that I cant keep

. Grey is only around 7 weeks old, which from reading posts is a little early to be crowing. Does Grey look and sound like she could be a he? Or is this the attempt at crowing that a dominant hen would make. Grey is the boss in the run. S/he is the biggest and about a week older then the rest. Just looking for some opinions before I rehome.

I'm sorry to say that you probably have a rooster on your hands. I thought I had 2 hens a few years ago, but then they both started crowing like that and they turned out to be roosters. If you can keep him, roosters make great free rangers, but if not I wish you and you chicken the very best.

Thanks. That is what I figured. Luckily I already have someone that wants a rooster so he will go to a good home.
