Maybe she does have a slightly sore leg. Imaging a person having a sore ankle, she could pull her self up to a kitchen counter top with her arms, but jumping down would still hurt. So maybe flying up to the perch is no problem but hopping down hurts.
Pretty egg BTW. It almost looks pink in the photo.
