Last night one of my favorite chickens died. She was the skinniest of my flock. Other than being skinny, there were really no problems with her. I acctually had to chase her around the yard yesterday to get her out of the rain. I have been crying all morning. Not sure what to do with myself

I'm very sorry. It happens sometimes. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong. Just part of the circle of life.

It still sucks, though...

I'm so sorry to hear about your hen.

It really hurts losing a friend, whether they're human, feathered, furry, scaly, or other. It's possible she had a genetic problem that lead to her death, or something like that... Sometimes we just don't know why they pass away. I hope you feel better about it soon, and I'm sure you'll keep her in your memories and heart. It's an unfortunate and sad part of keeping pets.

My first death was one of my meanie golden comets and I was actually happy to get rid of her because she was mean and she would never shutup:weee, but then about 2 months later my sweet little polish got killed by a hawk. She was all most a hen.

I hate that yucky feeling inside of you that makes you think that it was your fault. God made plenty of chickens to feed its predators and also for us to enjoy, its going to happen to every single one of us, and we are going to greive. I still remember earlier that day when I was chasing her around the yard:hugs
