I got a mallard duck egg one of my friends ''found'' at the park and I put it in my incubator, and Monday will be 28 days but it has 2 pips beside each other on the bigger end of the egg and it hasn't made any progress and it's my first duck ever if it hatches and I'm gonna buy 2 indian runner ducklings for it so it has buddies of it's own.....please help if and when you think I should peel off the shell over the pip or what....any help is appreciated!!!

Give it more time. As long as you see movement and it is peeping then it is just taking it's time. Not sure you will want to buy ducks just to keep it company. If this a wild duck, it will eventually fly away.

Thank you guys! I know a lot about chicken eggs hatching but wasn't sure on ducks. And yes I know about how it's a tiring prosses and to leave it be for a while but it's my first duck and I really want it to hatch!. And I know it will most likey fly away but friends of mine said they have mallards and even a big pond and they fly away and come back to visit every now and again and she said they left about a month ago because she bought 10 ducklings last year and she got 1 drake and 9 hens so 8 of the hens flew away for breeding so I think it will be cool because the mallard and 2 indian runner ducklings will grow up with there kiddie pool here on are homestead and than when the mallard feels like it she/he can fly away to the wild flocks and the runners can stay and help out with the garden

YAY!!! It pushed a piece of shell out and I can hear it peeping and watching the egg shake and the duckling trying to brake out. SOOOOO happy!!!
