I've read several blogs about how duck eggs differ from other eggs because of their natural dirty nature. Some say dont use a rocker lay them flat and turn them yourself. Problem with this is I work 10 and 12 hour days and cant turn them as much as it asked for, some said as much as 7 times a day. So I'm using my egg rocker. I tried to place the smaller eggs closest to the element because the larger taller eggs I felt would get hotter being closer to the element so they're placed in the inner rocker rings. These eggs are a mix of crested magpies and I have a mallard drake and hen and his 4 buff girls. I have hatched tons of chickens, quail, and some turkeys never ducks. Question one if I do take them outta the rocker and just lay em in the bottom can I just rotate them twice a day and maybe miss a day of rotation? I just set them in the bator so I can still make changes if need be. Any other pointers about hatching ducks is greatly appreciated. Also some of these eggs were stored in the fridge before hand I know it drops the hatch rate some and I'm not hatching for high numbers I honestly had a ton of eggs in the fridge and just decided to hatch some on a whim. I let those eggs sit out from friday evening to this morning.
