First Duck Egg!!

I think that the ducks must have been listening in on
Rusty's secret meetings, because I went in to the
ducks pen to let them out and lo and behold.. an egg!

No one was talking, so I have no idea which duck laid it.

actually, I think that they were a little scared of it.
Ducks are so silly!

Now, if the chickens will follow suit today.....

here is our first duck egg!

It is the size of a store bought extra large chicken egg.

Our Pekins are missing. A few weeks ago we had a predetor of some sort attack and kill one of the Rouen ducks. The Rouen ducks are still here, the rest of the flock anyway, but our 2 Pekins hightailed it out of here! Haven't seen them return... hope maybe they'll come back in the spring.
