First "dust" bath ::PICS::

  1. After reading a suggestion here on BYC, I put a small box of sand in the brooder with my 10-day-old chicks. They pecked around at it; seemed to enjoy it. Then I heard a different kind of chirp from one of them - like a rill as opposed to a cheep. Went in to investigate and there was my Light Brahma like a whirling dervish in the sand box! If the photo is blurry it's because she was rolling so fast [IMG]

    She went on and on. Finally the Buff Orpington came over to investigate. I'm guessing she'll be the next one in line at the "spa".

    Awwwww! That is adorable! I took my 3 week olds out to play today and we had some dust baths too! Mine had never touched the ground before and they just knew what to do! It was adorable! [IMG]

    I can just see my husband's face as I tell him of this new thing I just "have" to go get for the chickies. [IMG] This just looks too fun not to do.
