First Egg!!! Any way to tell who laid it?

6 months, 8 days and one of my 13 ladies has laid an egg! Is there any way to find out who it was? Also, um...is she okay? Do I need to do anything for her? I brought out a little yogurt for them (their favorite snack) and put out oyster shell grit alongside their normal grit.

She's fine! And no way to tell who did it unless you speak chicken, otherwise nobody is going to tell you.

Gloves shouldn't be necessary. You aren't sticking your fingers into anything.

Chickens all have their own personalities but most will will cluck like the dickens after laying...specially their first egg. As you observe them a little while you will start to catch on to the egg song. also they will generally squat down a lot if you approach them when they near the time of the first one. My small flock all lay different shades of color so it did not take long to figure who laid what but if you have all the same breed it may not work for you. Congrats on her first!
