So, there was an egg in the coop this morning, which is exciting, except it was broken and the shell was thin and kind of leathery, like fabric. I'm pretty sure it was my blue copper marans, Elena, since she's 9 months old. I can't tell if it was eaten at all--there was at least part of the yolk. Several of them tend to cram together in one of the nests.
I read on here that hot weather and being a new layer can both cause weird eggs. Do I need to worry or do something different?
