Checked the nest boxes today just to clean up any messes, found this pretty brown speckled egg, three weeks before I was expecting any! I have two Wyandotte’s, three cuckoo marans, a buff Orpington, a barred rock, an Asian black, and a silkie bantam. The buff and the Asian have been attracting rooster attention for the past two weeks or so. I’ll be checking their hips when they roost tonight for a clue. Any guesses?

Asian black. I used to have two of those roosters.

Uh, for future reference the breed is called the Asian Black with the words in that order for a reason. A 'black Asian' is a totally different subject :th

It looks like some of my Barred Plymouth Rock eggs. But I would not be willing to wager much on that. The different lines throw widely differing eggs. Some are speckled. Some are a little on the dark side. Some are quite light. I have been in your shoes many times, and rarely guessed correctly. I never kept Marans, but I think they throw speckles. My wyandottes and orpingtons always leaned toward the light smooth cream. No info whatever on the Asian Black chicken egg other than internet says "brown."

Is the cock/erel you have an adult(over one year old)?
Pullets age in weeks would help with a guess.
Was going to suggest the hip check(that sounds better than pelvic exam, eh?-haha!).

Both the pullets and cockerels are 16 weeks. I know the boys are likely to mount anything they can, so I didn’t think much of that. Hip check was inconclusive, the BO and the Asian felt just a little wider than the others. There was no egg today while we have been keeping watch on the boxes.

I’ve got 4-5 pullet Easter Eggers. 2 silver, 2 duck wing, and the other I’m not sure is cockerel or pullet but it’s more white with black and some brown start to show. Just got first green egg yesterday. 24 weeks. How do I know whose it is???

Narrowed my hens down to two, the BO or the Asian. They have sort of paired off with cockerels, and today I’m watching them closely. The four of them have been in the coop clucking up a storm, so I keep looking in the windows. One of the boys goes into a box and scratches it up a bit, then “his” girl climbs in and pushes him out and sits for a minute. No egg yet though so I’m still guessing.

You've got a good boy. He's showing her where to lay.
